Hill Country Authors Series, sponsored by the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library, continues with Elizabeth Crook, discussing her latest novel, The Madstone. Set in the Texas Hill Country of 1868, The Madstone is the riveting story of a pregnant young mother, her child, and the frontier tradesman who helps them flee across Texas from outlaws bent on revenge.
Lauded by critics, the book has appeared on many prominent book lists and has been named one of Texas Observer’s must-read Lone Star books. Crook will give a 20-30 minute presentation, followed by a 15-20 minute question-and-answer session.
Refreshments, provided by Sweet Lemon Kitchen are included in the admission price. Lark and Owl Booksellers will be on hand to sell copies of the book, which the author will be happy to sign.
