Your donations help change lives

Donate Today

IT'S GIVING SEASON 2024!

Your generosity empowers us to support every person in the community through library resources and programs.

Donate Used Books and Media

We appreciate donations and accept books, CDs and DVDs, and just about anything that someone would read, listen to, play, put together, or treasure.

Items should be clean and in good condition. We cannot accept Reader’s Digest Condensed Books or anything that is or has been wet or moldy. For more info click here.

Donate Time and Experience

We have many committed volunteers helping us staff our bookstore and support other programs and fundraising efforts.  Why not join us?  As a volunteer, you can directly contribute to our effort to keep our library the cultural center of our community by helping to provide education, programs and other necessary services that enhance Georgetown’s civic life.  Click here for more info.

Some corporations encourage volunteerism by providing monetary grants to organizations where employees regularly volunteer. Check to see if your employer offers this valuable benefit.

Donate Money

Many corporations match employee donations to non-profit organizations like ours. Check with your employer to see if they offer such a program.

Memberships comprise a significant portion of our revenue.  We have membership levels to fit every budget, and we offer business memberships too!  Click here for more info.

We sponsor various fundraisers throughout the year, some in conjunction with local restaurants like Fish City Grill and Firo Pizza.  We appreciate the support of our community to help raise money for our library.

Legacy Gifts

Include the Friends in your estate plan.  You can name the Friends as a beneficiary in your will or trust designating your gift of cash, real estate, stocks, bonds and mutual funds, or personal property.  You can also designate the Friends as an owner and beneficiary of your retirement funds or life insurance policy.  See your tax advisor for details for your specific case.

Contact us at info@bodfolgeorgetown to inform us about your estate plans that include the Friends of the Georgetown Public Library.  We would like to thank you personally for investing in the future of our library.
